(Taiwan TB News Network / Reporter Chen Nien-tsu) When Premier Mao Chi-kuo attended the "First Year of Electronic Payments Certification Ceremony" on August 28, he stated that electronic payments and third-party payment mechanisms are important infrastructure in the financial system, and he hoped that the launch of this system would accelerate e-commerce's growth into a trillion-yuan industry, energize Taiwan's overall economy, and drive industrial development.

Premier Mao Chi-kuo stated that the core of electronic payments and third-party payment mechanisms lies in their being an electronic version of collection and payment services, offering more possibilities than traditional manual collection and payment. In addition to linking operational processes such as payment collection and order placement, businesses can also use this mechanism for other cross-sector applications.

Premier Mao Chi-kuo pointed out that in the e-commerce market, electronic payment platforms are of considerable benefit to both consumers and businesses. Not only do consumers have more choices in the e-commerce market, but businesses expanding their operations can also take advantage of the shared platform features of electronic payments and third-party mechanisms, using them without needing to develop a new system separately, with micro-enterprises benefiting the most. Premier Mao further stated that according to Financial Supervisory Commission data, after the second half of 105, the electronic payment and third-party payment market will grow by more than 20 percent.

Premier Mao Chi-kuo thanked all colleagues who promoted the electronic payment platform, including the Financial Supervisory Commission and other relevant ministries, the Bankers Association, and participating businesses, for jointly bringing about the birth of this system, and expressed hope that it would open a new path for Taiwan's future.
