New Taipei City Enters the Global Market, New Taipei City Global Trade Network Officially Launched
To assist New Taipei City enterprises in entering the international market and to move from physical marketing to online marketing, the New Taipei City Government leads the nation by building a unified e-commerce platform portal. In the future, it will provide free listings of New Taipei enterprises on the e-commerce platform, while integrating the marketing and customer base resources of heavyweight e-commerce platforms to offer exclusive preferential listing packages. On August 25, New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu announced the launch of the "New Taipei City Global Trade Network," formally opening a new era of cross-border e-commerce online marketing for New Taipei enterprises.
New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu stated that during periods of economic recession or declining exports, striving to expand foreign sales may be the best remedy for boosting the economy or rescuing the stock market. If foreign sales can be expanded further, especially since the "New Taipei City Global Trade Network" integrates everyone together, creating the first global e-commerce portal established by a local government, allowing all manufacturers to go online and build catalogs, it is believed that New Taipei's finest products can be seen by buyers and purchasers around the world through this portal. Likewise, they can also reach New Taipei manufacturers, who will provide the best service.
Eric Chu continued that e-commerce is the most important trend of the 21st century. New Taipei City will drive the intelligent upgrade and smart value-added transformation of traditional industries. Through innovative e-commerce models, it will bring enterprises out into the world and let the world come in. At any time in the online world, "let the world see New Taipei, and New Taipei moves toward the globe."
The Economic Development Department of New Taipei City stated that "cross-border e-commerce" can be described as the hottest term in the e-commerce world in 2015. The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development pointed out that in 2015, cross-border e-commerce would account for 30%-40% of total world trade. Taiwan is an island-type country, and its economy has always relied on exports. Enterprises are inherently very sensitive to changes in the global economy. In recent years, global economic growth has slowed, Taiwan's exports have been affected, and this has gradually been reflected in the domestic economic trend. This impact will be even more pronounced for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The New Taipei City Government stated that in this era of information explosion, e-commerce has already dramatically changed the rules of foreign sales. Wherever there is internet access, products can potentially be sold to consumers around the world. Actions such as participating in global exhibitions, finding agents, planning distribution channels, and marketing promotion can all be completed on a single computer or even a single mobile phone. To assist New Taipei City enterprises in seizing international market opportunities at lower costs, the New Taipei City Government launched the Global Trade Network Cross-Border E-Commerce Plan, building the "New Taipei City Global Trade Network New Taipei Global Exzone," which features three major functions:
New Taipei Catalog Center: Provides New Taipei City enterprises with free placement of company information and product catalogs on the platform for buyers worldwide to search and contact.
New Taipei E-Commerce Portal: Connects to the New Taipei enterprise zones on partner e-commerce platforms, enabling direct information exchange or ordering online, enhancing enterprise and product visibility and overseas business opportunities.
E-Commerce Platform New Taipei Zone: Combines the resources of heavyweight cross-border e-commerce platforms, including Taiwan Trade, Alibaba.com, Qtrade Taiwan Collection Network and other platforms, to construct a "New Taipei Zone," integrating New Taipei enterprise and product information, increasing exposure opportunities, and providing exclusive preferential or value-added packages for New Taipei enterprises.
The Economic Development Department of New Taipei City explained that over the past two years, the New Taipei City Government, through export promotion and expanded procurement methods, has led New Taipei City enterprises in expanding into overseas markets. It has also, through industrial and commercial exhibition subsidies, encouraged New Taipei enterprises to organize groups to exhibit abroad and expand their market territory. All of this integrates the industrial strength of New Taipei City, using a group strategy to jointly seek business opportunities externally. Now, it is further launching the "New Taipei City Global Trade Network" online e-commerce platform, where the virtual platform and physical promotion will complement and integrate with each other, increasing exposure opportunities for New Taipei enterprises and products and creating more procurement opportunities.
The New Taipei City Global Trade Network began recruiting New Taipei manufacturers on August 25 and officially launched on September 1, providing New Taipei enterprises with free catalog listings and other e-commerce-related services, inviting New Taipei enterprises to join e-commerce together and move toward the global market.
