Chunjian Honghe, a red-flowered lotus-petal type. Its leaf type is the large floating-leaf type, with wide leaves; the upper half bulges like a fish belly and ends in a point. It is a fine variety worth developing.
Yonghuaisu is a white-flowered cymbidium (Cymbidium tortisepalum) plain-flower lotus-petal type, native to the wild cymbidium orchids on Fenghuang Mountain in Laowo, Liuku, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Its leaf shape is graceful, and its leaves are 2 to 3 times thicker than those of ordinary cymbidium orchids, with deep serrations along the leaf edges, making it identifiable from far away.
The wild seedlings of this flower are very, very, very expensive. Although the wild seedlings are too expensive to afford, if you like this variety, you might consider tissue-cultured seedlings - they bloom just as well and are a good choice for practice.
