2016 Rotary Quality Enterprise Expo to Debut in February at the Expodome

To showcase Taiwan's upward economic momentum and open a friendly door for young entrepreneurs, representatives of Rotary International Districts 3520, 3490 and 3510 gathered together to announce that from February 3 to 6, 2016, at the Expodome in Taipei Expo Park, the "2016 Rotary Quality Enterprise Expo -- Health, Leisure and Cultural Creativity, and Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition" (hereinafter referred to as the "2016 Rotary Enterprise Expo") will be hosted by the Huayang Rotary Club of Zone 11, District 3520, Rotary International, and co-organized by Huayang, Huanan, Huazhong, Huaan, Nande, Ruiguang, Shuangying, and Zone 19's Huali Club. Zone 11 Assistant Director Lu Jinfeng explained that the event content is built around five main pillars: "Rotary Quality Enterprises and Rotary Entrepreneurship Angel Display," "Youth Entrepreneurship and National Development Fund Angel Fund Entrepreneurship Program Mentoring Enterprise Display," "Display Honoring Medical Staff and Public Welfare Groups for Their Meritorious Service in the Formosa Fun Coast Dust Explosion," "Summit Forum and Enterprise, Capital and Youth Entrepreneurship Matchmaking Session," and "Taiwan Specialty Souvenir Enterprises."

Expo Organizing Committee Chair Deng Yongqian and Host Huayang Club President Lai Yongzheng introduced the "2016 Rotary Enterprise Expo," saying that for Rotary International, with its century-long history, this is the first innovative large-scale vocational assistance expo ever created. Its biggest difference from the innovation and entrepreneurship exhibitions now in full swing is that it brings together the participation of enterprise owners among 8,000 Rotary members, and also, through the selection of outstanding startup teams to observe on the same stage as National Development Fund angel entrepreneurship mentoring enterprises, allows quality enterprises and startup teams to exchange innovations and draw on entrepreneurial wisdom, while also aiming for young entrepreneurs to use this opportunity to broaden their networks, expand business, and connect with quality capital.

Spokesperson Zhang Huimei explained that the exhibition area is planned into six major zones: Rotary Quality Enterprises, Startup Businesses, Forum and Youth Entrepreneurship Case Matchmaking Session, Enterprise Brands, Entrepreneurial Franchising, and Souvenirs. More than 200 quality enterprise brands and nearly 20 youth startup teams will exhibit, jointly promoted with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Industrial Technology Research Institute; under the guidance and participation of the Executive Yuan's National Development Fund Angel Program, the Taipei City Department of Economic Development, and the Taoyuan City Government Youth Affairs Bureau, it can be said that the official and private sectors are joining hands to heat up the "entrepreneurship wave," bringing together the three major elements of quality enterprises, startup teams, and venture capital to build a brand-new platform for sparking innovation, exchanging entrepreneurial experience, and expanding business and social networks, quickening the pace to nurture tomorrow's stars of youth entrepreneurship in Taiwan.

Rotary International District 3520 Governor Lin Huaming and Vocational Service Committee Chair Gao Xuding said: "Rotary International was founded 111 years ago, and not only has it seen its first Rotary International President from Taiwan, entrepreneur Huang Qi, it is also hoped that the '2016 Rotary Enterprise Expo,' the first of its kind in Rotary's century, can open a friendly door for enterprises and venture capital funds toward young entrepreneurs. It is hoped that in the future it can not only nurture a Taiwanese version of Bill Gates, but also seek out more tomorrow's stars of youth entrepreneurship in all kinds of vocations, making Taiwan a paradise for entrepreneurship and showcasing its upward economic momentum."
