Growing some flowers and plants at home is truly loved by many people, but a little carelessness during care can cause the leaves of foliage plants to turn yellow, or they simply do not bloom, which is really frustrating. So here are a few clever tips for everyone, hurry up and learn them, and make your plants full of life.

Fish-washing water

First, let the clean water used to wash fish sit overnight, then after diluting it, use it to water fertilizer-loving flowers and plants such as Chinese roses or gardenias, and it can provide the plants with sufficient nutrients, making them grow like crazy. However, fish-washing water cannot be used when summer temperatures are high, otherwise it is not good for plant growth.

Baijiu promotes blooming

Clivia has always been rather difficult to bloom, or simply does not bloom. Then we can directly use baijiu brewed from proper grain, pour out a small wine cup of it, and then slowly pour it along the edge of the pot soil. Never sprinkle it on the leaves. Basically, water it about once every 20 days, and after a while you will basically be able to see the Clivia bloom! Baijiu is only limited to use on Clivia, and it is best not to use it on other plants.

White vinegar prevents and treats yellow-leaf disease

For acid-loving flowers and plants such as gardenias and jasmine, if their leaves still turn yellow under suitable environmental conditions, it means their soil is alkaline. Then we can dilute white vinegar and clean water at a ratio of 1:10, use it to spray and moisten the leaves, and water once every 3 days. The plants will soon be full of life, with lush green leaves!

Soapy water repels insects

Summer is exactly the high-incidence season for pests, especially aphids, red spider mites and so on. No need to worry, we can break soap into pieces, then add an appropriate amount of clean water and stir evenly. After the soap melts, pour it into a spray bottle, and spray and moisten the stems and leaves with pests. Both the front and back of the leaves must be sprayed, and in this way all the pests can be killed.

Cooking oil promotes germination

For some plants whose seeds germinate relatively slowly, such as asparagus fern and Clivia, we can soak their seeds in water. After about 24 hours, take them out, drain them, mix the seeds evenly with cooking oil, and finally plant them in soil. This can effectively shorten their germination time.
