Most gardening enthusiasts may feel that jasmine's blooming period is fairly short - basically, after buying it home from the market, it blooms for about 7-10 days and then fades, and after that it probably just turns yellow and dies. Actually, properly speaking, jasmine's blooming period can last from May all the way to around November. So how exactly should we care for jasmine at home to make its blooming period longer? Here are a few little tips to share as a reference.

Care tips for potted jasmine:

1. Choose slightly acidic, loose and breathable soil for planting jasmine, to avoid yellowing leaves caused by compacted, non-breathable potting soil or improper watering. Keep the potting soil moist but not waterlogged.

Note: To avoid the soil of potted jasmine being too alkaline, you can dilute vinegar 1000 times and use it to water the jasmine, which can adjust the soil's pH.

2. After blooming, prune off the spent flowers and fertilize promptly. Cut the spent flowers at the second leaf down from the flower branch. Right after pruning, supplement with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer or a fast-acting compound fertilizer.

3. Jasmine loves light. When light is insufficient, it easily develops leggy branches and leaves, fails to bloom, or drops buds. Be sure to place the jasmine on a south-facing balcony with plenty of light, and prune off the leggy branches and leaves.

In summer, temperatures are high and water evaporates quickly, so you need to spray the leaves more often to increase air humidity, but it's best not to expose it to strong midday sun.

That's all for jasmine care. Gardening friends, you're welcome to leave a comment and share your care tips, so more people can grow flowers well!
