Ever since online shopping platforms came along, life has become so much more convenient. More and more things can be bought online, and there is nothing you cannot buy online - the only worry is that you do not have enough money in your pocket. Even now, many flower lovers' plants at home actually come from online purchases, with free shipping too, so why not?

Buying flowers online is indeed very convenient, but once the plant arrives, it must be handled and cared for carefully. Otherwise, no matter how precious, rare or healthy the plant is, it will very likely die within a short time - and then do not blame the online seller for cheating you! I love roses the most, so below I will share some of my experience with buying roses online.

Well, because the plant travels through several cities in a box before reaching the flower lover's hands, stuffiness and heat are simply unavoidable, and worse still, it suffers all kinds of squeezing and rough treatment. Anyway, if you can still tell it is a rose when it arrives, that is already quite admirable! Mail-order roses more or less always have some problems when they arrive.

Express delivery usually takes three or four days to reach the customer, and in hot weather like now, conditions may be even worse. For example, the bag of soil wrapping the plant's roots will have dried out. There was not much soil to begin with, and with high temperatures and heavy evaporation, yellowing and even dropping of leaves will also occur.

At this point, the old and damaged leaves must definitely be pruned off. If the branches are somewhat dry and flattened, you can also appropriately trim off a section. If the rose you received already has unopened buds, and these buds are drooping or somewhat dry and flattened, you can cut them off too, along with a section of the stems and leaves below the buds.

The principle of pruning is to remove yellow leaves and wilted buds, while trying to keep green, healthy leaves and branches, because this helps the plant carry out photosynthesis and recover better. If the plant is really severely damaged and almost all the leaves are gone, leaving only a bare stem, water it less, give it more light, and place it in the sun to bake.

If the plant retains quite a lot of leaves, you can soak it for one or two hours in diluted rooting powder liquid before changing the soil and repotting. The first watering after potting must be thorough, then place it in a spot where it can receive sunlight for care. If there are many leaves, it should not be exposed to strong sun. After the first watering, it is best to wait until the soil is almost completely dry before watering again. Do not let the soil stay in an overly moist state, otherwise root rot easily occurs.
