How to do a good job of disinfecting chicken houses with chickens inside?
1. Clean up the filth. As thoroughly as possible, sweep away chicken manure, feathers, dust, soiled litter and spider webs on the roof from the chicken cages, floor, walls and objects.
2. Rinse. Rinsing with clean water cannot kill pathogenic microorganisms; its purpose is to wash the filth out of the chicken house and improve the disinfection effect. The rinse wastewater should be discharged far away through a sewer or hidden ditch, and must not be discharged around the chicken house.
3. Choose drugs carefully. Disinfectants must be broad-spectrum, highly effective and powerful, with little corrosiveness to metal and plastic products, low inhalation toxicity, irritation and skin absorption for humans and chickens, and will not invade or remain in meat and eggs. Disinfectants that can be used for chicken disinfection include Qiangli Xiaoduling, peracetic acid, benzalkonium bromide, sodium hypochlorite, Jundudi, Baidusha, Jiniodine, Huifuxing and compound phenol, etc.
4. Prepare the liquid scientifically. It is better to use tap water to prepare the disinfectant liquid. The concentration of the disinfectant liquid must be uniform, and drugs that do not easily dissolve in water should be fully stirred to dissolve them. When the temperature of the disinfectant liquid is raised from 20°C to 30°C, its potency can increase twofold, so when preparing the disinfectant liquid, hot water should be used to dilute it. But the water temperature must not be too hot either; generally it should be controlled below 40°C. Once prepared, the disinfectant liquid has poorer stability and should not be stored for long; it should be prepared for immediate use and used up in one go.
5. Disinfect correctly. For disinfection with chickens inside, an automatic spray device with good atomization or a small agricultural backpack sprayer can be used; the droplet size should be controlled at 80 microns to 120 microns, and the nozzle should preferably be about 50 cm from the chicken body. When spraying, point the nozzle upward and spray gradually from inside to outside, disinfecting with chickens inside once a day, and preferably once in the morning and once in the evening each day. For enclosed chicken houses, a large bottle filled with volatile disinfectant liquids such as peracetic acid and Huifuxing can also be hung at the air inlet, so that as air enters the chicken house, the effect of disinfecting the air in the chicken house is achieved.
