How to raise pigs healthily? These three key points are crucial

Three key points for healthy pig farming

First, full-course health care

1. Create an ecological environment suitable for the growth and development of pigs, that is, the surrounding environment of the pig house must be conducive to disease prevention, far from chemical plants and waste treatment sites, and maintain a distance of more than 500 m from residential areas and main traffic roads. The orientation, height, temperature, humidity, air, internal hygiene, drinking water hygiene, and stocking density of the pig house must all make the pigs feel comfortable;

2. Ensure the supply of different nutritional needs for pigs at each growth stage and ensure balanced nutrition;

3. According to the feeding requirements of different growth stages, formulate feeding standards, strictly follow the standard process for feeding, and improve the level of farming; 4. Select drugs according to different seasons and the surrounding pig health status, and regularly prevent pig diseases.

Second, scientific immunization

Each pig farm should formulate an immunization plan according to its own specific circumstances, such as immunization time, frequency, vaccine type, brand and usage, dosage, and vaccination age, etc. There must be standardized immunization operating procedures. According to standardized requirements, the health status of the pigs must be checked before vaccination, vaccination instruments must be strictly disinfected, the vaccines used for vaccination must meet quality requirements, the vaccination dose must be accurate, and no pigs may be missed or under-vaccinated.

Third, strengthened disinfection

Disinfection work is an important part of epidemic prevention work on pig farms and is indispensable. It is necessary to correctly understand the role of disinfection: disinfection only kills pathogenic microorganisms retained in the external environment and has no therapeutic effect on sick pigs. Disinfectant drugs have a time limit and cannot solve everything once and for all; disinfection plays a preventive role, such as disinfection at the entrance and exit of pig houses, disinfection of empty pig houses, and disinfection with pigs present, to prevent pathogenic microorganisms from infecting pigs. It must not be neglected. One moment of negligence may undo all previous efforts; when an infectious disease is discovered, the source of infection must be eliminated before disinfection can be effective. Wang Linsong
