Amaryllis in full bloom in Sihu, Yunlin County. The public is welcome to come and enjoy the flowers

The Changchun Horticulture Amaryllis Garden in Sihu Township, Yunlin County held the "Spring Outing in the Countryside Parent-Child Flower Viewing Event" on the 10th, showcasing more than 30 new varieties of amaryllis, with large swaths of amaryllis in various colors in bloom, attracting people to bring their families out for a spring stroll to enjoy the flowers; County Magistrate Li Jinyong praised the flower breeding achievements of garden owner Wu Junyu, and welcomed adults and children alike to take a spring outing to Sihu to enjoy the amaryllis while the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming, giving a thumbs-up together to the outstanding performance of local agriculture.

The Changchun Horticulture Amaryllis Garden in Sihu is famous for the 52-petal amaryllis cultivated by garden owner Wu Junyu himself. This flower variety displays the tenacious vitality of a coastal kid, and was named "Changchun King." After a year's time, Wu Junyu pressed on and developed and crossbred more than 30 new varieties of amaryllis, and received recognition from the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, once again making the abundant energy of Yunlin's agriculture known to everyone.

Su Junhao, Deputy Speaker of the Yunlin County Council, stated that growing ornamental flowers in coastal areas is truly quite difficult, and the whole sea of amaryllis at the site proves Wu Junyu's perseverance and effort in making the impossible possible. He hopes that through the event, more people will come to know the beauty of Yunlin's flowers.

Garden owner Wu Junyu stated that amaryllis are in full bloom this year, with about more than 40,000 amaryllis plants blooming in the garden. Before the flowering season ends at the end of May, the public is welcome to enter the garden free of charge to enjoy the flowers.

The event also invited children from the Chinese orchestra of Xinxing Elementary School in Taixi Township, the energetic mothers of the Sihu Good Morning Association, and magician Robin, the God of Magic, to deliver wonderful performances, along with a buffet and free ice treats for tasting.
