The 2016 Ruifang Tung Blossom Season will be held on May 1. Three tung blossom viewing routes will let the public see the tung blossoms to their heart's content, and there will also be traditional Hakka food and challenge games, letting people enjoy Ruifang under the tung blossom trees.
The Ruifang Tung Blossom Season is about to kick off on May 1. Every year it attracts many visitors to view the tung blossoms. Strolling under the tung blossom trees through the Sijiaoting coal kiln site and the old cannon fort is a great pleasure, and this year three tung blossom viewing routes have been introduced, giving the public an eyeful.
Ruifang District Chief Chen Qizheng explained that this year's three routes for the tung blossom season are Ji'an Temple to Fuxing Temple, the Cukengkou coal kiln site, and the Sijiaoting fort ruins, paired with three shuttle bus services, so that adults and children can easily view the tung blossoms. In addition, at the main venue, Ji'an Temple, there will be Hakka mochi and grass jelly, so visitors can enjoy the tung blossoms and also satisfy their appetites.
In addition, on the day of the event, traditional Hakka clothing and farm tools will be provided for the public to dress up in. In the fun challenge, as long as participants collect three stamps, they can exchange them for local specialty products. Quantities are limited, and everyone is welcome to bring their families and join in.
