What are the precautions for applying organic fertilizer? Keep these points in mind
Be sure to use it only after it is fully decomposed. Undecomposed organic fertilizer contains harmful substances such as pathogenic bacteria and weed seeds; after use, it may cause problems such as pest outbreaks, weed spread, and crop burn, so sufficient attention should be paid to this.
Be sure to master the application method
Organic fertilizer can be divided into two types: solid organic fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer. Generally, solid organic fertilizer is used as a base fertilizer, and liquid organic fertilizer is used as a top dressing. In terms of application methods, powdered organic fertilizer can be broadcast before cultivation, granular organic fertilizer can be broadcast or applied to the roots with a fertilizer applicator; liquid organic fertilizer can be sprayed, irrigated, or drip-applied at different stages of crop growth, working together with solid organic fertilizer to provide nutrients to crops.
Be sure to determine the application rate scientifically
The application rate of organic fertilizer should follow the principle of soil testing and formulated fertilization, with fertilization formulated according to soil nutrient content, target yield, and fertilizer nutrient content. Generally, for field crops, 300-500 kg of solid organic fertilizer is applied per mu; for vegetables and fruit trees, 500-1000 kg of solid organic fertilizer is applied per mu; for organic fruit and vegetable crops, 1000-2000 kg of solid organic fertilizer is applied per mu. The application of liquid organic fertilizer is determined according to different crop types and different production stages, and generally the application rate increases along with the seedling stage, stem and leaf growth stage, and fruit growth stage.
