What are the precautions for blood collection in chickens?
Precautions during blood collection in chickens: Keep on-site records during blood collection, and fill in the blood collection form in a standardized way, including the chicken farm name, chicken breed, age in days, number of samples, immunization status and other items. Label each sample properly to strictly prevent loss, mixing and contamination. The blood collection volume should be taken according to the testing requirements.
????Sample collection
It should comply with the principles of representativeness, accuracy, reasonableness and scientific validity. Generally, at least 15 samples should be collected from one batch of chickens. The collected samples should involve different chicken houses. Within the same chicken house, blood samples should be collected from the four corners and the middle position, so that the results are convincing.
Waste left over from blood collection should be centrally incinerated or deeply buried for harmless treatment.
????Storage and submission of blood samples
After blood is collected, the needle should be removed immediately, and the blood in the syringe should be slowly injected along the wall of the test tube, without air bubbles and without shaking. Number them one by one, check carefully, and place them at an angle. Blood samples in summer at room temperature, and in winter in 25~37 warm water, should be left for about 1h, and then serum can separate out. After the serum separates out, it needs to be frozen for storage. When collecting and preparing chicken red blood cell suspension, 2ml of anticoagulant should first be placed in a 5ml syringe. For the anticoagulant, dissolve 3.8g of trisodium citrate in 1ml of distilled water.
When blood samples are submitted for testing, add an appropriate amount of ice cubes in an insulated box to prevent the blood from deteriorating, and try to prevent severe shaking during submission. Bao Jinhua
