2016 New Taipei City Hakka Tung Blossom Festival - Tung Blossom Tour of Sanxia Banquet

Every spring and summer, in the Yuanshan Scenic Area of Sanxia District, tung blossoms bloom across the hillsides, with dense flowers like snow, making it the most suitable place to admire tung blossoms in the outskirts of New Taipei City. Since Yuanshan is adjacent to Sanxia Old Street, while enjoying the tung blossoms and scenery, visitors can also take the opportunity to tour the quaint old street and the Sanxia Zushi Temple, built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.

The "2016 New Taipei City Hakka Tung Blossom Festival - Tung Blossom Tour of Sanxia" banquet is scheduled to hold related series of activities on April 23 (Saturday), including the Tung Blossom Tour of Sanxia Banquet (arts and cultural performances and garden party), guided tours of the old street and Qingshui Zushi Temple.

The event venue is on Changfu Bridge in Sanxia, adjacent to Sanxia Old Street and Qingshui Zushi Temple. The performances start at 1 PM, inviting local school clubs to participate. The garden party booths sell local agricultural specialties, cultural and creative products, as well as Hakka floral hair accessories, printmaking, bead stringing experience activities, and booth challenge prize exchange activities. Collect 6 stamps to redeem 1 limited-edition gift (limited quantity, while supplies last!).

On the day of the event, at 9 AM, 10 AM, 3 PM, and 4 PM, four free guided tours of the Yuanshan Tung Blossom Trail will be arranged at the Old Street Visitor Service Center. Sanxia Yuanshan is a low-altitude broadleaf forest, with different scenery in each season. The trail is rich in animal and plant ecology along the way. In April and May, tung blossoms fall like rain in the wind, and the Muller's Barbet also calls out to friends. After nightfall, fireflies flicker and dance romantically. Through professional local guide volunteers in Sanxia, the public is led to appreciate the beauty of Sanxia.
