Can tulips be grown indoors? Points to note when growing tulips indoors

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
We have certainly all heard of this plant; it is very popular in many countries and is the national flower of many of them. Nowadays, a great many people grow this plant. Its flowers come in rather lovely and varied colors, and its flowering period is not short, so it is deeply loved by everyone. However, a question is now being widely raised, and that is whether it can be grown indoors. So today we will carefully discuss this question and the reasoning behind it.

1. Timing

Its flowers are actually very beautiful; each flower is not small and grows especially vividly. If you let them grow in a mass, they become a beautiful sea. Everyone also knows that its flowering time is relatively long, specifically as long as two months, and the flowers bloom around April and May in late spring.

2. The reasoning

The place where we generally plant it is in the fields, but nowadays more and more people grow flowers, and many people also grow it in pots, yet we cannot move this kind of potted plant into a room. Why exactly is that? Although the traditional Chinese medicine books we have come across state that this plant can treat some illnesses, such as vomiting and bad breath, it has been found that the flowers of this plant contain toxins. If we come into contact with it only a little, it does not matter, but if we stay together with it for two or three hours, we will be poisoned. What is more, our hair may even fall out completely, and of course dizziness and a swollen head can also be caused. Besides people being affected by this thing, animals are affected too. If you keep pets at home, then especially do not grow it indoors. If it is the kind of flowers bought in bunches from a flower shop, then you must also remember to control the ventilation conditions.

3. Growing

When growing it normally, the temperature must be controlled; the temperature is best between ten-plus and twenty degrees. Too high is not good, and too low will not do either. Water is also essential. We absolutely must not water it too much; each time we water, it should be a small amount, and even if we water rather frequently, that is quite normal. In addition, the soil we provide for it should be neutral, and we must ensure the soil is loose. We should also remember to shade it moderately at ordinary times, so that light does not affect it. Normally we should fertilize it, but not during the flowering period. In addition, we should also kill insects for it; there may be quite a lot of pests, and we can use the commonly used reagent for killing aphids.
