New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu Attends CPBL Family Parent-Child Day

May 15 is International Day of Families, and to also celebrate Mother's Day, the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) and the New Taipei City Government held the "2016 CPBL International Day of Families Parent-Child Activity" on the 8th at the Sunshine Lawn of Xinzhuang Sports Park. Mayor Eric Chu, CPBL President Wu Chih-yang and professional baseball player Chang Chih-hao were present to join the occasion. Mayor Chu said that a child's growing years require the company of both father and mother, and he encouraged parents to take their children outdoors more often and engage in outdoor leisure activities together.

Mayor Eric Chu stated that as it coincides with Mother's Day, holding a parent-child activity on such a special day is all the more meaningful. CPBL President Wu Chih-yang also said that the best way to maintain a parent-child relationship is through sports. Whether participatory or spectator activities, both are very meaningful.

This Family Day activity invited 100 groups of parent-child fans to take part in the "Parent-Child Catch Ball" throwing-and-catching activity, with Mayor Eric Chu and CPBL President Wu Chih-yang jointly throwing out the first pitch, and professional baseball player Chang Chih-hao also bringing his child to participate.
