The Penghu Marine Resources Museum was established in the 84th year of the Republic of China. It is not only the county's first specialized exhibition hall, but also an important base for promoting Penghu's marine culture and education. Through rich exhibition resources and a good visiting environment, it preserves Penghu's local marine culture characteristics and enhances the resource capacity of the marine lifestyle industry, so as to achieve the benefits of sustainable development of marine ecology and marine culture. However, after 20 years of change, the exhibition content and presentation methods have become necessary to update. Therefore, with the efforts of the Cultural Affairs Bureau team, funding was secured from the Ministry of Culture's "Local Cultural Hall Subsidy Program," and full support was also obtained from the County Council. Finally, the exhibition renewal project for the Marine Resources Museum was launched, with rich and multi-directional exhibition content to increase the museum's completeness and educational value, interactivity and fun. At the same time, through overall exhibition space planning and design, functions such as dynamic audiovisual multimedia production and enhanced exhibition-based teaching were enriched.

After completing the exhibition renewal project, it was decided to hold the opening event and resume museum operations on May 18, "International Museum Day," a deeply meaningful date, at 8:20 a.m. In addition to arranging a marine-themed performance carefully designed by the county's "Baisha Health Dance Association," marine ecology educator Teacher Hong Guoxiong was also invited to serve as an on-site guide. In addition, to increase the interactivity of the exhibition hall, the Cultural Affairs Bureau specially invited several fishermen and fisherwomen to appear in person and talk about many interesting stories from fishing and gathering, so that in addition to fulfilling its exhibition function, the museum also gains a different "humanistic" quality. It is worth looking forward to.

In addition, venues including the Penghu Life Museum, the Marine Resources Museum, the Penghu Reclamation Hall, and the First Funeral Parlor will all open for free admission on May 18. This is a rare opportunity and would be a pity to miss. Old friends and new acquaintances are welcome to join in and walk into the museums together to experience and feel the influence of local culture.
