Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Season x Paper Windmill Theatre: A Super-Value Children's Feast During the Dragon Boat Festival Long Weekend

Where to go during the Dragon Boat Festival long weekend? The Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Tourism Season, in collaboration with the Paper Windmill Theatre, will hold a grand street fair with roads closed in Donggang Township during the Dragon Boat Festival long weekend on June 11 and 12, featuring large inflatable animal installations, interactive game booths, and in the evening the children's favorite "Paper Windmill Fantasia" performance, turning Donggang Township into a family carnival. The Pingtung County Government welcomes everyone to come and celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival at the Bluefin Tuna Season.

To give the children a sneak preview, the Pingtung County Government held a press conference on the morning of the 7th at Pingtung Park. As soon as the members of the Paper Windmill Theatre appeared, they were surrounded by children like a pied piper, playing games with them. The children used their hands to act as seaweed, and the scene felt like an undersea adventure, filled with laughter.

The Department of Tourism and Communication pointed out that from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 11 and 12, roads will be closed at the intersection of Guangfu Road and Chenggong Road in Donggang Township for the event. Fun interactive game booths will be set up on site, allowing children to experience a wild man's roast suckling pig feast, play the role of a fisherman catching flying fish, and take part in a land boat game where they pull a rope to move forward using their own strength. In addition, there will be large inflatable animal installations such as penguins, sea lions and a giant octopus, as well as several interactive famous painting installations, letting children participate in art and become part of well-known paintings.

The highlight of the event will be at 7 p.m. on the 11th (Saturday), when Paper Windmill will perform "Paper Windmill Fantasia" on the stage area. The content includes five segments: "The Story of Donggang," "Reveille," "The Runaway Fish Race," "Traveling Alone at Eight" and "The Magic Black Light Stick," with Paper Windmill's most experienced witch character, Wuding, weaving through the drama to tell stories to the children.

At 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the 12th, the Paper Windmill Theatre will perform "Deep Sea Fish Theatre" a total of 3 times. The performances are rich and fun, teaching children through drama how to respond when they encounter bad people, so that both adults and children can learn while laughing.
