Hsinchu County Government: Registration for the 2016 National Day Space Fun Run opens on the 14th

The Hsinchu Art & Sports Festival, which originated from the "Changyi Family Day" event, will enter its fourth edition this year. The 2016 National Day Space Fun Run once again integrates landscape art into the city, making it part of everyday life, allowing the public to naturally feel the pulse of art and the city. Registration will officially open at 2 p.m. on 6/14 (Tuesday), and is expected to trigger a fierce online registration battle. Who gets to take part depends on who acts fastest. The most anticipated and closely watched event organized each year by the Changyi Culture and Education Foundation is the Changyi National Day SUPER RUN held on the October 10 National Day. Its creative COSPLAY themed costumes keep all road-running fans waiting eagerly, raring to go as they await the moment registration opens, ready to seize the initiative in one move.

From Superman in 2013 and The Incredibles in 2014 to Air Force pilots in 2015, this year's run has chosen "astronauts" as its theme. It will start at 6 a.m. on October 10 and is divided into the 10k Cosmic Roaming Competition Group and the 3k Bright Exploration Fun Group. An estimated 5,000 runners will collectively put on one-piece white space suits and transform into incredibly dashing astronauts for the largest "space fun run" with the most participants in history.

The Hsinchu County Government stated that Taiwan has its own National Space Center in Hsinchu and has been working quietly for Taiwan for more than 20 years. The first remote sensing satellite independently developed by Taiwan, FORMOSAT-5, is about to be launched this year and will be able to provide clearer and more precious images of Earth. Therefore, astronauts were specially chosen for this year's costumes, in the hope that while everyone enjoys the road-running event, they can also feel the joy of Taiwan's space development this time.
