Flowers & Gardening 0 views
This plant has many alternative names, such as "lotus flower", "water bloom" and so on. The most common one we see is pink. But it is not only pink, there are many other colors, such as white, purple, red and so on. There are many varieties, some are grown for ornamental purposes, and some are grown for eating. Its place of origin is the tropical and temperate regions of Asia. Its appearance is very beautiful, and many people want to grow a pot of it at home. So, what aspects need attention in its care?

1. Planting steps

(1) Prepare the soil and expose it to the blazing sun, which can sterilize it.

(2) Put the sun-exposed soil into a container, add soil until it reaches about two-thirds of the way to the top, then pour in clean water and stir.

(3) After stirring well, add more water, about five cm above the soil is fine.

(4) Bury the seed lotus rhizome shallowly in the soil and quietly wait for it to grow.

2. Care methods

(1) Water: We all know that this plant is aquatic, so it can never be without water. In the early stage, the water layer can be kept at about three cm. It does not need to be too deep, otherwise the soil temperature will be too low. In addition, in summer, the container must not lack water even more. In winter, the water can be slightly less, but it still needs to stay relatively moist.

(2) Fertilizer: The growth of the plant cannot be separated from nutrients. If the soil contains more nutrients, then there is no need to fertilize. If it does not contain much, then we can apply some, mainly phosphorus and potassium, with nitrogen as a supplement. The methods of use are quite varied; you can use decomposed cake fertilizer or animal manure. In addition, note that you should not apply too much, and it also needs to be stirred evenly with the soil. Also, if the leaves turn yellow or fall off, you can mix urea into the soil, make it into balls one by one, and then place them on the soil layer in the center of the container; the effect can generally be seen in about a week.
