How to prevent dripping from greenhouse film

Dripping from the film covering a greenhouse vegetable crop raises the air humidity inside the greenhouse. When water droplets fall onto the vegetable leaves, they form a film of water on the leaves, creating favorable environmental conditions for pathogens to infect and develop, which triggers vegetable diseases.

Causes of dripping from greenhouse film: first, because the anti-drip film used is of poor quality, the evaporated moisture does not flow down the inner surface of the film as a water film but instead forms beads that drip down; second, because as the film-like water on the film flows downward, it is blocked by wire, arch frames and other construction materials, forming beads that drip continuously.

Measures to take to avoid dripping: first, cover with high-quality anti-drip film. Although the one-time investment in the film increases, there is less dripping inside the greenhouse, lower humidity, milder disease occurrence, less spraying, and higher vegetable yield and better quality. Second, build the greenhouse's light-receiving surface as an arc-shaped light-receiving surface, to avoid the greenhouse film directly contacting the wire, which causes a large amount of dripping. Third, spray bean-flour water or an anti-drip agent. If you find many water beads on the greenhouse film, you can spray an anti-drip agent (silicone adjuvants, etc.) or bean-flour water onto the film. Note that before spraying you should ventilate first, and after the water beads on the greenhouse film have dried, spray evenly onto the inner surface of the film, at 120-150 ml of liquid per sq m of film, and after the water film dries, close the ventilation openings. This can noticeably reduce dripping from the film within half a month to one month.
