Guidance on scientific fertilization of greenhouse cucumbers

????1. Fertilization principles

The planting seasons for greenhouse cucumbers are divided into the autumn-winter crop, the overwintering long crop, and the winter-spring crop. In view of problems existing in their production, such as excessive fertilization, unreasonable fertilization ratios, excessive irrigation leading to serious nutrient loss, the use of organic fertilizers mainly based on livestock and poultry manure leading to imbalanced nutrient ratios and reduced soil biological activity, continuous cropping obstacles leading to serious soil quality degradation, reduced nutrient uptake efficiency, and declining vegetable quality, the following fertilization principles are proposed:

(1) Apply organic fertilizer reasonably, advocate the application of high-quality organic compost, and for old vegetable greenhouses pay attention to applying more exogenous straw or organic fertilizer with a high carbon-to-nitrogen ratio and less poultry manure fertilizer;

(2) According to soil fertility conditions and the amount of organic fertilizer applied, comprehensively consider soil nutrient supply and appropriately adjust the amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium chemical fertilizers;

(3) Adopt reasonable irrigation and fertilization techniques, and follow the principle of frequent small amounts of irrigation and fertilization;

(4) Nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are mainly used as topdressing, applied in small amounts many times, avoiding topdressing with compound fertilizer high in phosphorus. Do not topdress frequently at the seedling stage, and pay attention to topdressing in the middle and late stages;

(5) When vegetable land is severely acidified, apply an appropriate amount of lime and other acidic soil conditioners.

????2. Fertilization recommendations

(1) For seedling fertilizer, increase the application of decomposed organic fertilizer and supplement phosphorus fertilizer. For every 10 sq m of seedbed, apply 60~100 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer, 0.5~1 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, and 0.5 kg of potassium sulfate. According to seedling condition, spray 0.05%~0.1% urea solution 1~2 times;

(2) Apply 4 cubic meters per mu of high-quality organic fertilizer as base fertilizer;

(3) For a yield level of 14000~16000 kg/mu, nitrogen fertilizer (N) 40~45 kg/mu, phosphorus fertilizer (P2O5) 13~18 kg/mu, potassium fertilizer (K2O) 50~55 kg/mu;

(4) For a yield level of 11000~14000 kg/mu, nitrogen fertilizer (N) 35~40 kg/mu, phosphorus fertilizer (P2O5) 11~13 kg/mu, potassium fertilizer (K2O) 40~50 kg/mu;

(5) For a yield level of 7000~11000 kg/mu, nitrogen fertilizer (N) 28~35 kg/mu, phosphorus fertilizer (P2O5) 8~11 kg/mu, potassium fertilizer (K2O) 30~40 kg/mu;

(6) For a yield level of 4000~7000 kg/mu, nitrogen fertilizer (N) 20~28 kg/mu, phosphorus fertilizer (P2O5) 5~8 kg/mu, potassium fertilizer (K2O) 25~30 kg/mu.

If drip irrigation fertilization technology is used, the amount of chemical fertilizer applied can be reduced by 20%. If flood irrigation is used, the amount of fertilizer applied each time needs to be increased by 20%.

For greenhouse cucumbers, all organic fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer are applied as base fertilizer. At the early flowering stage, the focus is on control. All nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are topdressed periodically 6~8 times according to the nutrient requirements of the growth period; the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied each time does not exceed 5 kg/mu; nitrogen and potassium fertilizers for the autumn-winter crop and winter-spring crop are topdressed 6~7 times, and nitrogen and potassium fertilizers for the overwintering long crop are topdressed 8~11 times. If drip irrigation fertilization technology is used, the principle of frequent small amounts can be adopted, with about 15 irrigation and fertilization times. Science and Education Section
