Detailed explanation of weed control technical measures in wheat fields
1. Choose the right herbicide. For wheat fields dominated by monocotyledonous weeds, herbicides such as Puma, Jinma and Sigma can be used. For wheat fields dominated by dicotyledonous broadleaf weeds, herbicides such as tribenuron-methyl, thifensulfuron-methyl and 2,4-D butyl ester can be used. For wheat fields with a mix of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds, Juxing or a mixture of tribenuron-methyl plus Puma can be used.
2. The best application period. Chemical weed control in spring wheat fields starts from the greening stage and ends at the early jointing stage. Spraying too early, when temperatures are low, gives poor results; spraying too late, when temperatures are high, will cause herbicide damage to the wheat seedlings and will also cause herbicide damage to the following crop.
3. Master the temperature and humidity at the time of application. The starting time for application requires a daily average temperature above 10°C, and it should be done on a sunny day between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. If the soil is dry, first water for greening, then spray the herbicide.
4. Strictly control the dosage and the method for preparing the spray solution. The dosage must be strictly controlled; it must not be reduced or increased at will, so as to avoid lowering the control effect or causing herbicide damage. To prepare the spray solution, use the two-step dilution method: first prepare the original pesticide into a mother liquor, add an appropriate amount of water to the sprayer, then pour in an appropriate amount of the mother liquor, and finally add clean water and mix evenly. The water volume per mu must not be less than 30 kg.
5. Master the correct method of use. Spray evenly and thoroughly, try to make the pesticide wet the stems and leaves of the weeds, and do not spray twice in the same place or miss any spots. When spraying, it is strictly forbidden to spray on windy days, especially 2,4-D butyl ester, to prevent the spray solution from drifting and causing herbicide damage to other crops. After use, the sprayer must be strictly cleaned; especially for 2,4-D butyl ester, soak it in 3% ferrous sulfate water for 24 hours, and remove the switch, nozzle and spray hose completely and rinse them well, so as to avoid causing herbicide damage to other crops when it is used again.
