What to Do After Spraying the Wrong Pesticide

In the process of agricultural production management, using pesticides to control crop pests and diseases is one of the main methods; with long-term use of pesticides, it is inevitable that the wrong pesticide will sometimes be sprayed; in mild cases, pesticides affect the normal growth of crops, causing spots, wilting, leaf curling, leaf and fruit drop, and so on, while in severe cases they can lead to crop death. So, what should be done when the wrong pesticide has been sprayed?

1. Promptly remove the affected branches and leaves. What should be done if the wrong pesticide has been sprayed? Once it is discovered that the wrong pesticide has been sprayed, remedial measures should be taken promptly. The commonly used remedial measures for spraying the wrong pesticide include the following: after leaves suffer pesticide damage, the leaves and branches that have lost green color and changed color should be removed promptly to curb the penetration and translocation of the pesticide within the plant.

2. Spray clean water. After spraying the wrong pesticide or after pesticide damage occurs, promptly spray clean water to wash off the pesticide solution on the surface of the affected plants. For pesticide damage caused by alkaline pesticides, an appropriate amount of edible vinegar can be added when spraying water; for pesticide damage caused by acidic pesticides, 0.1% quicklime can be added when spraying water, which can neutralize the pesticide and make it lose effectiveness as quickly as possible. At the same time, pay attention to ventilation in the greenhouse, dissipate heat and lower the temperature, so as to help harmful gases escape.

3. Water promptly. Watering greenhouse vegetables can increase the cellular water content in the plant, promote metabolism, and reduce the relative content of harmful substances. At the same time, watering can also dilute the harmful substances accumulated in the plant roots.

4. Spray mitigating agents. For example, 0.5% quicklime water can alleviate pesticide damage caused by copper preparations; 0.2% soap solution can alleviate pesticide damage caused by organophosphorus pesticides.

5. Balance fertilization. Moderately apply quick-acting compound fertilizer as a topdressing or spray a full-nutrient foliar fertilizer on the leaves to promote seedling recovery and strengthening, and improve resistance to pesticide damage. Deligerihu
