To truly master bonsai, learning from a master is the shortcut

[Reflections of a Bonsai Enthusiast]

Meeting is fate,
Staying together depends on hearts,
Fear not loving deeply, but fear heartlessness; fear not devotion, but fear a broken heart: the lowliest thing is affection, the coldest thing is the human heart. In truth, every act of care is a kindness, every hot tear is a piece of infatuation. With a bit more kindness between people, there will be less drifting apart in relationships. Friends need not be many; what matters is knowing the person, knowing the heart, knowing the kindred spirit, knowing the feeling. Feeling does not depend on how long, but on the stirring of the heart, the understanding, the connection, the shared spirit, the sincerity.
Learning from a master is the shortcut

I have visited many bonsai gardens, and my overall impression is that there are not many fine specimens and good works are hard to find. A pang of sorrow, endless feelings!
In further conversations with garden owners, I roughly arrived at a preliminary answer: garden owners are often set in their ways, self-righteous, working behind closed doors... They are taking detours and making mistakes, either completely unaware, or going their own way, or knowing their mistakes but refusing to change. In the face of skill, there is no airs and no face to save, only true ability!

Perhaps learning from a master is the shortcut to mastering bonsai. What is a master? Whoever has ability is a master.

A master can be a person, a fine physical bonsai work, bonsai pictures, video and audio, bonsai theory, and so on.

To master bonsai, pooling wisdom is the way out; working behind closed doors is a dead end. "Go out, invite in" - exchange more, learn more, think more, and only then can you gradually raise your bonsai skill and spiritual level!

I am a young person with a strong interest in bonsai art, and I am honored to have had the chance to listen in person to the teachings of Chinese bonsai art master Wang Xuanmin. His statement that "anyone who can enter the way of bonsai is self-taught" greatly encouraged me. Master Wang Xuanmin said: "Regarding the learning methods for bonsai, there is currently no unified regulation. There is also no national standard textbook for bonsai knowledge. So people who learn bonsai all choose their own learning paths according to their own conditions. Because everyone's knowledge structure and experience differ, and there are differences in age and cultural and artistic cultivation, anyone who can enter the way of bonsai is self-taught. There are also those who learn from a master; although they receive personal instruction, those who can achieve success still rely on themselves. Whether self-taught or learning from a master, mastering the correct learning method is very important. Otherwise, an improper direction or improper method will directly affect learning efficiency, and in serious cases lead one astray."
