Key measures to promptly restore vine vigor after grape harvest
After grape harvest, protecting grape leaves and preventing premature shedding should be treated as an important management task.
Because after grape harvest, the leaves are still carrying out photosynthesis and increasing nutrient accumulation. Therefore, attention should be paid to protecting grape leaves; apart from leaves with pests and diseases and already withered leaves that need to be removed, other leaves should be retained for as long as possible.
For current-year shoots that are still growing, light pinching should be carried out to promote shoot maturity.
To promote the restoration of vine vigor, protect the leaves, extend the duration of photosynthesis, and promote shoot maturity, post-fruit fertilizer should be applied well; generally, 15 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, and a 0.3% urea solution for 2 to 3 foliar topdressings. In vineyards with vigorous vine growth, less or no fertilizer may be applied to prevent excessive growth of new shoots and consumption of nutrients.
