It's the right time to replant strawberry seedlings

Strawberry planting in Changping District has been basically completed, and the plants are currently in the seedling recovery stage, which is exactly the key period for replanting. Replanting is an important process that affects strawberry yield, so replanting must be timely and effective.

1. For seedlings confirmed to be dead, they must be pulled out promptly and replaced with new seedlings.

Generally, the new seedlings used for replanting are reserved during the earlier planting period and, after being heeled in, are used for replanting. When replanting these new seedlings, care must be taken to protect the root system. After more than 10 days of heeling in, the new seedlings have already rooted. During lifting and planting, create as few wounds as possible to increase the survival rate and ensure the effectiveness of replanting.

For replanting newly ordered seedlings, simply follow the planting requirements. Note: when replanting substrate seedlings, they must be planted together with the substrate, avoiding shaking the roots loose, so as not to damage the root system and reduce the seedling survival rate.

Note: when seedling death is caused by pests or diseases, the diseased planting holes must be disinfected before replanting to avoid secondary infection. Quicklime is generally used to disinfect the diseased holes.

2. For weak seedlings not yet confirmed to be dead, to avoid replanting too late after they die, which causes uneven seedling growth and makes field management difficult, new seedlings can be replanted near the weak seedlings. Note: the weak seedlings do not need to be pulled out directly, to avoid damaging their root systems.
