How should a cattle farm be planned and built? These key points need to be mastered
The selection of the cattle farm site requires careful consideration, overall arrangement, and relatively long-term planning. It must be integrated with agricultural and livestock development plans, farmland capital construction plans, and residential construction plans, and must meet the needs of modern cattle farming.
1. A cattle farm should be built with two zones: one is the office area, and the other is the farming area. The office area and the farming area should be separated.
2. A disinfection pool is set up at the gate of the beef cattle farm to disinfect vehicles and personnel entering the farm, so as to prevent external sources of infection from entering the farm.
3. A disinfection room is set up at the separation point between the office area and the farming area to disinfect personnel entering the farming area.
4. Beef cattle barns should be planned in a standardized way, and cattle barns for farming and isolation barns should be separated to prevent infection.
5. Convenient transportation. The purchase of feeder cattle and large quantities of forage and feed, and the sale of fattened cattle and manure, involve a large transport volume and frequent trips, and some transport needs to run regardless of wind or rain. Therefore, the beef cattle farm should be built in a place with convenient transportation, relatively close to a highway or railway.
6. Sanitation and epidemic prevention. Stay away from major traffic routes, villages, and factories by more than 500 meters, and from ordinary roads by more than 200 meters. It is also necessary to avoid slaughtering operations and especially chemical enterprises that pollute the beef cattle farm, comply with veterinary hygiene and environmental requirements, and ensure there is no source of infection nearby.
