Tainan City Labor Affairs Bureau promotes Mid-Autumn gift boxes, takes action to support sheltered workshops

For a different kind of Mid-Autumn Festival gift, the Tainan City Labor Affairs Bureau held a press conference on the 16th for sheltered workshop Mid-Autumn gift boxes, encouraging entrepreneurs and residents to choose sheltered products when buying holiday gifts and to take action to support sheltered workshops.

Currently, technology companies in Xinshi District and South District have ordered more than 1,000 Mid-Autumn gift boxes from "Zhanyi Bakery" to give to their employees, so that while enjoying the holiday atmosphere, they can also help friends with disabilities. The Tainan Labor Affairs Bureau specially presented certificates of appreciation to express its gratitude, hoping this will encourage the public to join in purchasing the various products from sheltered workshops.

There are 4 sheltered workshops established under the guidance of the Tainan City Labor Affairs Bureau. "Zhanyi Bakery" launched its "Love. Joy" Mid-Autumn gift box this year, featuring sweet-and-sour pineapple cakes, old-fashioned mung bean pastries, thousand-layer taro pastries, egg yolk pastries and handmade cookies, among others; "Lianxin Garden Sheltered Horticultural Workshop," together with the Lianxin Garden Foundation, launched a warm-hearted perilla plum gift box and a tea bag + egg roll gift box; "Chuangyi" and "Jimao" sheltered workshops operate photocopying, printing, graphic design, engraving and various customized printing products, and residents are welcome to buy more and give them great support.

Wang Xinji, director of the Labor Affairs Bureau, called on all sectors to enthusiastically purchase sheltered products and take action to support sheltered workshops, increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, so that people with physical and mental disabilities can change from being cared for into workers who provide services after appropriate training. Through guidance, they can also become self-reliant and enjoy work, develop a pattern of enjoying interaction with others, and help share the family's financial burden. The Labor Affairs Bureau will continue to guide newly established sheltered workshops to serve more friends with physical and mental disabilities.
