National Museum of History Mobile Museum Has Cool Beasts? First Stop Budai, Chiayi, Hurry and Catch Them

(Taiwan TB News Network / Reporter Gu Jiawen) Friends who love catching creatures, please take note: the National Museum of History has hatched its newest breed of Cool Beasts. Starting August 20, in front of Wusheng Temple in Budai, Chiayi, everyone is welcome to visit the Mobile Museum and catch them.

It's not only Japan's Nintendo that has Pokemon; Taiwan's museums also have many super cool beasts. The National Museum of History's fully updated Mobile Museum hatches animal-themed collection pieces into beasts, combining 3D printing technology, interactive games and local features under the exhibition theme "The Cool Beasts Are Here - A Fantastic Experience of the Real and the Imagined," inviting the public to board and, through a game-based experience, catch beasts while also boosting their learning power.

The National Museum of History has the country's first Mobile Museum, designed by converting a 40-foot large shipping container and driving it to different regional schools and communities for exhibitions. Since it was established in the 90th year of the Republic of China, the two Mobile Museums have toured more than 330 exhibitions across counties, cities, towns and townships throughout Taiwan, serving more than 800,000 visits and providing local schoolchildren and residents with new cultural experiences. This year, the National Museum of History uses the concept of cultural technology and applies 3D printing technology to create simulated reproductions of national treasures and important antiquities in its collection, so lifelike that it is almost hard to tell real from fake. At the same time, with animals as the exhibition theme, it combines digital games and interactive learning to lead the public to experience through play how the real and the imagined inspire each other.

The "The Cool Beasts Are Here" Mobile Museum launches on August 20 in Budai, Chiayi, and through December 25 will tour five areas in Chiayi County: Budai, Minxiong, Puzi, Dongshi and Xingang. It includes amazing 3D printing technology, the realistic reproduction of the Tang sancai horse, the treasure hunt featuring two groups of magical treasures and the Invincible Four Gods, and animals unique to Taiwan, and Chiayi residents are all welcome to visit for the experience and to catch beasts.
