International Food Festival kicks off in Taichung on the 25th: masters gather to compete for WACS gold medals

The "2016 Taiwan International Food Festival - TCAC Challenge" will grandly kick off from August 25 to 28 at the Taichung Chaoma Business and Industry Exhibition Center, with 26 individual competition categories totaling 751 groups and 11 teams of domestic and international contestants competing together for gold medals; the venue also offers exotic dishes for the public to taste, and those who check in will receive a professional chef's knife. The Taichung City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau welcomes everyone to attend enthusiastically.

The challenge is guided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Taichung City Government, and organized by the Taiwan Culinary and Food Association. A press conference was held on the 22nd at the Taiwan Boulevard Municipal Building. Chen Yongji, chairman of the Taiwan Culinary and Food Association, said that the main purposes of holding the competition are "culinary heritage" and "internationalization of Taiwanese cuisine," and thanked the city government, the association's board of directors and supervisors, and other related units for their support and assistance; Chen Yuzheng, deputy director-general of the Tourism Bureau, said that this year the "banquet" culture has been incorporated, which is quite helpful for promoting Taichung internationally.

The Taiwan Culinary and Food Association said that the event site is divided into four major themed activity areas: the food special zone, the competition special zone, the good deals special zone, and the stage performance special zone. The site sells specialty foods from Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other places, and there is also an experience game area for the whole family to enjoy together.

On the opening day, the first 100 people who purchase tickets and enter will receive a free high-end mystery gift provided by Cheng Fang Co., Ltd., as the first welcome goodie. During the four-day event, the good deals special zone will also give away 50 internationally professional chef's knives sponsored by Liuxie Xingye Co., Ltd. every day as a check-in reward gift.
