Hsinchu Park Centennial! International Glass Art Festival Grandly Opens in September

To celebrate the centennial of Hsinchu Park, the "2016 Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival," hosted by the Hsinchu City Government and organized by the Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau, will grandly open on September 3. Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated that the biennial Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival is an event that glass artists across Taiwan eagerly anticipate, and this year it is being grandly held in conjunction with the "Hsinchu Park Centennial Celebration." The event is themed "Raise a Glass in Celebration," inviting nearly 100 renowned glass artists from home and abroad and displaying more than 200 exquisite artworks, inviting people from all over the country to stroll through Hsinchu Park, appreciate glass craftsmanship, and together "raise a glass in cheers."

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this year's International Glass Art Festival has created an "immersive exhibition space," displaying renowned glass artworks from around the world in three major venues within Hsinchu Park: the "Crystal Splendor Pavilion," the "Golden Glass Phantom Pavilion," and the "Cheers Life Pavilion," allowing the public to understand and engage with glass art in a simple and fun way.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival brings together artists from various countries for mutual exchange, accumulating solid artistic and cultural energy. This year's glass art festival not only features an innovative "immersive exhibition space" but also combines rich artistic and cultural activities, allowing glass art to be sustainably passed down and leap onto the international stage. It is hoped that the brand-new centennial Hsinchu Park will become a new highlight of Hsinchu City.
