In autumn, the root system of large cherry trees grows quickly and produces many new roots. The broken roots caused by autumn fertilization heal easily and are conducive to producing more roots. In large cherry orchards, basal fertilizer is applied relatively early in autumn, generally starting from August to September.

Fertilization plan:

1. Strip trench application is suitable for applying basal fertilizer. Dig trenches on both outer edges of the tree canopy corresponding to the tree body and apply fertilizer. Each year, dig a strip trench in one direction and use them alternately. When applying basal fertilizer in autumn, the strip trench is dug relatively large, generally about 30-40 cm.

2. Ring trench application: dig a ring-shaped trench around the outer periphery of the canopy. The depth and width of the trench are the same as for radial trench application. This method is mostly suitable for young trees with a relatively small root distribution range.

3. Broadcast application: evenly scatter the fertilizer under the tree, then turn it into the soil, to a depth of about 20 cm. However, because it is applied shallowly, it often causes the root system to rise upward and reduces the stress resistance of the root system, so it should be carried out in alternate years with the radial trench application method.

4. Fertilization must be used together with photosynthetic nutrient film fertilizer, which can help plants absorb large amounts of light fertilizer, light energy, and light, is compatible with conventional fertilizers, and supplies nutrients to plant growth and development to the extreme. One application benefits the whole year.

5. Autumn basal fertilizer application should be based on the tree's vigor, tree size, fruit load, and the results of some soil testing formulas to apply some fruit tree compound fertilizer, and promptly supplement medium and trace elements.
