Management Techniques for Potato During the Flowering and Tuber Formation Stage

Cultivation and earthing up: When the soil is thin and the ridges are narrow, green potatoes are very likely to develop. Therefore, one round of deep earthing up must be carried out together with cultivation, to a thickness of 2-3 cm, covering the entire plastic film to prevent this phenomenon.

Foliar fertilization: For plots where potato plants are weak in growth and leaves turn yellow, spray urea plus photosynthetic nutrient film fertilizer on the leaves in a timely manner to help the plants absorb large amounts of light fertilizer, light energy and sunlight, and to work in combination with conventional fertilizers, supplying nutrients for plant growth and development to the utmost.

Control excessive vegetative growth: When plant growth is especially vigorous, promptly spray Chuhuawang No. 3 for regulation, promoting the transformation from vegetative growth to reproductive growth.

Water management: After full seedling emergence, water once depending on the seedling-stage soil conditions. During the budding stage, flowering stage and peak tuber formation stage, water needs must be ensured; water once in each of these three stages depending on weather conditions, to increase soil moisture and lower temperature.

Pest and disease control: For disease damage, when central diseased plants are found, promptly spray Hushu Dajiangjun to disinfect and sterilize, and use targeted agents for timely control. For insect damage to potatoes, start using targeted agents when larvae appear, spraying once every 6-8 days for 2-3 consecutive sprays.
