The 15th Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia (CPTA) kicked off on the 3rd in Jakarta, Indonesia. Taipei City continued its efforts to promote the tourism markets of the ten ASEAN countries without pause. In addition to inviting the public to explore the features of different cities at the member city booths on September 3 and 4, on September 5 and 6 it will also join member cities in sharing how to shape a strong tourism image to attract visitors, hoping to unite Asia's strength and jointly create a new blue ocean for tourism.
The Taipei City Department of Information and Tourism was the host city of last year's Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia. Major achievements from last year's conference that received considerable praise included the packaging and promotion of the "One Asia Pass" product, the updating of the official website, and advertising exchanges and mutual promotion with various cities. This year, having been invited to Jakarta to attend the Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia, in addition to setting up a booth at the venue to interact with Indonesian people, it will also present the city's important marketing plans and results during the conference, exchanging and sharing with various cities.
Department of Information and Tourism Commissioner Chien Yu-yen stated that in order to actively expand the tourism markets of the ten ASEAN countries, following a series of promotion activities in Thailand and Malaysia this year, the Department of Information and Tourism has set its second wave of targets on Indonesia. This Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia happens to be held in Jakarta, and taking this opportunity not only allows for the exchange of valuable opinions on tourism promotion with various Asian member cities, but also enables close contact with the public, which is highly beneficial for expanding tourism. The Department of Information and Tourism will also continue in the future to cultivate the ten ASEAN countries and the Muslim market, hoping to attract more visitors.
