Taichung City Guguan Parade Yukata Carnival: Soak in the Hot Springs and Win Round-Trip Tickets to Japan

The Taichung City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau held the "2016 Taichung Good Hot Spring Season" series of events, among which the "Guguan Fun Parade Yukata Carnival" was held on the 10th in the Guguan Hot Spring Area. In addition to arranging various performances such as the yukata dance, free tastings of pounded mochi and Baileng ice pops were also offered. In addition, during the hot spring season event, spending a certain amount also gave participants the chance to win round-trip tickets from Taichung to Oita Prefecture, Japan, so besides soaking in the hot springs, they could also win great prizes.

The event on the 10th specially invited the "Yamata no Orochi" team from the Yufuin Hot Spring Association of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, to give a spectacular performance. Performances such as the yukata dance, the Songhe indigenous dance, and drum formations were also arranged, and a parade team was formed by the city government team, Guguan hot spring operators, Japanese anime COSPLAY fans, and others. Nearly 300 people took part, and the procession stretched for several hundred meters, an unprecedented grand occasion. Deputy Mayor Lin Ling-san, Tourism and Travel Bureau Director Chen Sheng-shan, Economic Development Bureau Director Lu Yao-chih, and others also wore yukata to join the occasion.

The Tourism and Travel Bureau pointed out that the "2016 Taichung Good Hot Spring Season" series of events ran from September 1 to October 31. During the event period, it also cooperated with Nantou County and Miaoli County to hold the "Central Taiwan Hot Spring Fun, Joyful Spending Grand Prize Draw" lottery activity, marketing the hot spring areas of central Taiwan. In addition to launching various hot spring food displays and hot spring accommodation discount packages, during the event period, as long as participants spent 500 yuan or more at participating shops in Taichung City, Miaoli Tai'an, and Nantou hot spring areas and registered online, they had the chance to win round-trip tickets from Taichung to Oita Prefecture, Japan, an iPad Air2 (Wi-Fi), hot spring vouchers, and other great gifts.
