Raising meat sheep well to gain autumn fat

Summer feed is abundant, so we must seize the opportunity to build up meat sheep's summer fat, laying the foundation for full fat and breeding in autumn and winter. But summer weather is hot, and it is very easy to cause sheep heatstroke or trigger other diseases. Therefore, breeders should make preparations in advance, adapt to local conditions, and graze scientifically, so as to achieve optimal raising and optimal grazing and the goal of rapid fattening.

In hot summer weather, sheep like to bunch together and do not eat their fill. For morning grazing, they should go out early and return early; generally they can be sent out to graze once the dew has just dried. From 11:00 to 15:00 noon, let the sheep rest in the pen and eat forage; collect the flock at 7:00 in the evening. In clear and pleasant weather, choose dry places for grazing; in hot weather, choose shaded woodland for grazing to prevent sheep heatstroke.

While supplementing with mixed feed 1 to 2 times a day (wheat bran, cornmeal, soybean cake, etc., mixed with rice bran and grass bran), grazing sheep should drink lightly salted water 4 to 6 times. Never let sheep drink stagnant pond water, irrigation and drainage water, or ditch water, and never let sheep graze or rest in damp, muddy places, so as to avoid causing rheumatism.

In summer, with high temperature and high humidity, after sheep return from grazing, because their range of activity becomes smaller, it is easy for the pen to become damp and the environment to deteriorate, which often leads to parasitic diseases. Therefore, pay attention to the environmental hygiene, ventilation and moisture-proofing of the sheep shed, keep the sheep shed clean and dry, and do a good job in preventing and treating parasitic diseases such as sheep scabies. Feed and drinking water given daily must be kept clean. Do not feed moldy, spoiled, toxic feed or feed mixed with foreign matter, and keep feeding utensils clean at all times. The sheep shed and exercise yard should be cleaned frequently and disinfected regularly.
