Control of bacterial heart rot in corn

Bacterial heart rot in corn is a new disease that has occurred commonly in corn-growing areas in recent years. It mainly shows as a water-soaked edge on the young leaves in the early stage, with an off-odor, and in severe cases the young leaves become twisted. The cause is that two small pests during the corn seedling stage---the Swedish fly and thrips---pierce and suck (or rasp) the corn young leaves, and the wounds they cause later trigger bacterial infection when humidity is high, leading to corn heart rot.

Control methods:

(1) During the seedling stage, attention must be paid to controlling the two small pests, spraying the young leaves with 10% imidacloprid at 1500 times dilution.

(2) At the early stage of the disease, choose any one of the following major prescriptions and spray-irrigate the young leaves for control, which can produce a very obvious effect. 20% Longkejun at 500 times + 10% imidacloprid at 1500 times + Aiduoshou at 4000 times, or 1% shenqinmycin at 1500 times + 15% acetamiprid at 3000 times + Aiduoshou at 4000 times.
