Keelung Mayor Lin Yu-chang and the Three Businesses Selected for SBIR Program Subsidies Voice Their Support

On the 20th, the Keelung City Economic Development Department held a pre-signing press conference for the selection results of the Local Industry Innovation R&D Promotion Program (Local SBIR). Mayor Lin Yu-chang, accompanied by Economic Development Department Director Lin Fu-lai, joined the three selected subsidy recipients - Quanli Rice Cracker, Lixin Creativity, and Actioner Technology - in voicing their support, "Industrial Innovation GO! GO! GO!", driving Keelung's industrial upgrading forward through assisting small and medium-sized enterprises with innovation.

Mayor Lin Yu-chang pointed out that this is Keelung's first time participating in the program, with the city government allocating a budget of 1 million yuan, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs subsidizing the city with 1.76 million yuan, totaling 2.76 million yuan to promote the SBIR program, assisting local small and medium-sized enterprises in upgrading their technology and operations. This first edition drew applications from 9 companies, and after evaluation by experts and scholars, three were selected. He emphasized that through government subsidies to assist businesses with innovation and new technology development and application, driving industrial development momentum, the city government will continue to secure budgets to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Director Lin of the Economic Development Department pointed out that in the past the city government had paid less attention to this area, and hoped that from this beginning, the technological and service innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises could be enhanced, with better development, accelerating Keelung's overall industrial and commercial development.

The Economic Development Department stated that this year's subsidy recipients include a multi-time participant in Keelung's Top Ten Souvenirs - Quanli Rice Cracker (food preservation technology), a local youth startup - Lixin Creativity (establishing infrared laser tag locations), and a new startup company - Actioner Technology (APP tour guide). Through funding subsidies to promote innovative applications and technological development, strengthen the core technology of small and medium-sized enterprises, and drive Keelung's industrial economy.
