In a season like this, it should be the peak growing season for orchids, but judging from the orchid bonsai I have been growing recently, I found they were not growing as healthily as I had expected. Instead, the orchids looked listless and grew sluggishly. This made those of us who grow orchids very worried, and we had to look for corresponding methods to solve it.

Today, I got personal guidance from a veteran orchid-growing friend and gained a great deal. I would also like to share these little tips with everyone, so that you who are troubled by the same orchid-growing problems can easily get out of such a predicament. So my friend taught us these 3 little tips, hoping they will be helpful to you.

Tip one: Choose the right time to water. We all know that orchids are sun-loving flowers and grow fastest in a humid environment. So, in a season like this, watering orchids is the most critical thing. How can you achieve this state? First, you need to be able to identify the moisture level of the soil, that is, grab a small handful of soil from the orchid pot with your hand and squeeze it into a ball; if no water comes out, and it automatically breaks apart after you let go, that is what it means for it to be moist.

Tip two: Proper lighting. Although orchids love the sun, they cannot be exposed to strong direct light or be exposed for too long, as this will cause the orchid's branches and leaves to wilt and grow slowly. Usually, orchids mainly receive scattered light. So, in a season like this, if you want orchids to grow ideally, you should provide proper shading for them when the midday temperature is too high.

Tip three: Reasonable fertilizing. In summer, this is truly a key period for orchid growth. Choosing a reasonable occasion and fertilizing orchids at the proper time is the key factor for their growth. At the same time, when fertilizing orchids, try to choose ecological fertilizers. Here, I use already fermented cow dung, and after disinfection treatment, add a little humus soil, scrape open the soil on the surface of the orchid pot, and directly add the cow dung soil as a long-acting fertilizer.

Finally, I want to say that when watering orchids, do not choose to do it at noon when the temperature is too high. Watering at this time is like adding fuel to the fire and will cause the orchid roots to burn. Usually, choosing to water after 7 p.m. is most suitable. Thank you for taking your precious time out of your busy schedule to read patiently; reading takes you to an even higher level. In addition, if you have any thoughts or views, you can post them in the comment section below for exchange and discussion.
