A total of 49 companies received program subsidies this year; the city government invested a total of 40,239,000 yuan in subsidy funds, and the companies invested about 40 million yuan in research and development. After the technologies are successfully developed, they are expected to generate about 100 million yuan in investment and 600 million yuan in production value.
The Taichung City Government's promotion of the SBIR program focuses on subsidizing industries in six major fields: metal machinery, consumer chemicals, food and biotechnology/medical care, innovative services - service value-added, innovative services - business models, green energy conservation, and smart living and optoelectronics/information communications.
