Key three prevention measures for raising chickens in summer
1. Prevent dampness:
That is, pay attention to keeping the chicken coop and exercise yard dry. The most suitable relative humidity for broiler chickens is 50-70%. When relative humidity is above 70%, their feathers become matted and dirty, and arthritis cases also increase. Especially in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, microorganisms are prone to breeding and multiplying, inducing the occurrence and spread of diseases. Therefore, potholes in the exercise yard should be filled level, drainage should be kept unobstructed, and during continuous rainy weather, the chicken coop especially must be kept dry to prevent mold growth.
2. Prevent mosquitoes and flies:
That is, prevent mosquitoes and flies from harming the chickens' bodies. There are many mosquitoes and flies in summer. In addition to paying attention to good sanitation in the chicken coop and exercise yard, weeds around the chicken coop should be completely cleared, sewage ditches and pits should be filled level, screen windows should be installed in the chicken coop, and insecticides should be sprayed regularly to kill mosquitoes and flies, so as to ensure that the broiler chickens have a peaceful environment
3. Prevent disease:
That is, prevent diseases. High temperatures can lower the resistance of broiler chickens, making them highly prone to coccidiosis, staphylococcosis, and other diseases. Therefore, in addition to adding antibiotics to the feed, disinfection of the chicken coop with the chickens inside should also be carried out. The disinfectant should be a broad-spectrum, highly effective, non-toxic and side-effect-free adhesive disinfectant, such as Baidusha, Dujunjing, sodium hypochlorite, etc., sprayed at 15 ml per sq m, and the spray should be 50-80 cm away from the flock. Under normal circumstances, 1-2 times per week; on hot days, once in the morning and once in the afternoon each day, while correspondingly reducing the drug concentration by 30-50%.
