Changhua Coffee Green Bean Quality Evaluation Event to Be Held on the 28th and 29th

The "2016 Taiwan Changhua Coffee Green Bean Quality Evaluation Event," organized by the Changhua City Farmers' Association, will take place on October 28 and 29. Changhua County Magistrate Wei Minggu hopes that through this professional evaluation event, the county's refined, high-quality coffee beans can be marketed and promoted.

Magistrate Wei Minggu stated that modern people pursue a refined lifestyle, and the coffee market is growing larger and larger. The coffee produced in Changhua County is of excellent quality. The 2016 Taiwan Changhua Coffee Green Bean Quality Evaluation Event will be held on October 28 and 29 at the Changhua City Farmers' Association. At that time, many farmers will bring the coffee beans they have carefully cultivated to be evaluated here. Through the evaluation event, not only can the quality of the coffee beans be improved, but farmers will also be encouraged to cultivate coffee more carefully and produce richly aromatic coffee beans that suit consumers' tastes and gain consumers' recognition. The county government is delighted to establish a cooperative relationship with the Changhua City Farmers' Association to jointly promote and market Changhua County's coffee.

Lin Yuyuan, Director-General of the Changhua City Farmers' Association, pointed out that the evaluation will uphold the principles of fairness, openness, and impartiality. The evaluation standards all refer to the SCAA evaluation standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, and the judging team is also very strong, so that coffee farmers who pass the evaluation receive substantive recognition, while also developing both agriculture and the tourism industry in the future.

From September 20 to October 7 of the 105th year of the Republic of China calendar, the Changhua City Farmers' Association invited coffee farmers from Taichung City, Nantou County, and Changhua County to register. A total of 41 participants entered the competition. On October 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the preliminary cupping evaluation will be held in the Agricultural Extension Classroom of the City Farmers' Association, selecting 20 participants. On October 29, the final cupping evaluation will be held, selecting 1st to 3rd places and 7 excellent awards, 10 in total, with rewards given according to ranking. The standards for this evaluation all refer to the SCAA evaluation standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America. The judging lineup is strong and highly credible. Coffee lovers from all sectors are sincerely invited to participate together in the evaluation event.
