In order to introduce Taichung City's high-quality agricultural specialty products to major manufacturers in the Central Taiwan Science Park for procurement, the Taichung City Agriculture Bureau cooperated with the Central Taiwan Science Park Bureau of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the first time, and held an "Agricultural Specialty Products Exhibition Event" at the Central Taiwan Science Park Bureau on the 9th, hoping that through the major manufacturers getting to know and taste locally produced healthy and delicious agricultural specialty products, they would then purchase gift boxes to give to clients.
The event mainly exhibited representative agricultural specialty products and processed agricultural products from 12 farmers' associations, cooperatives, and farms in Taichung, such as Shalu sweet potatoes and a series of gift boxes, Dajia taro and taro processed product gift boxes, Wufeng fragrant rice series and sake gift boxes, the domestic soybean soy milk brand "Dou Dou Jiang," Wuqi "57 Dou Dou Ice," Daya red adzuki bean series gift boxes, Waipu Farmer Master honey series, Da'an An Nong sausage gift boxes, and seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables.
Tsai Yung-sheng, deputy director of the Agriculture Bureau, stated that manufacturers in the Central Taiwan Science Park purchasing Taichung agricultural specialty products as souvenir gifts can both expand marketing channels for local agricultural products and promote local consumption, save energy and reduce carbon emissions, and further increase the income of Taichung farmers. Most importantly, through the event, consumers and producers can communicate face to face, allowing them to hear consumers' thoughts and suggestions on product packaging and quality, which can serve as a basis for producers to make improvements.
The Agriculture Bureau stated that the peak season for Chinese New Year gift-giving is approaching, and it hopes the exhibition event can encourage manufacturers to make purchases. In the future, it will also increase the frequency of exhibitions, giving park manufacturers more opportunities to choose and achieving the goal of local production and local consumption, with mutual prosperity and a win-win outcome.
