Key operation points for fumigation disinfection of chicken coops

The fumigation disinfection method for chicken coops uses formalin reacting with potassium permanganate to quickly release formaldehyde gas and kill pathogenic microorganisms. This is a commonly used method for disinfecting chicken coops. Before disinfection, close the doors and windows of the chicken coop and seal all gaps tightly, then calculate the total amount of chemicals needed according to the volume of the chicken coop. The dosage is calculated at 28 ml of formalin, 14 g of potassium permanganate, and 4-5 ml of water per cubic meter of chicken coop. During operation, first pour water into a corrosion-resistant ceramic or enamel container, then add potassium permanganate and stir evenly, then add formalin, leave immediately, and immediately close the doors and windows of the chicken coop tightly. The following issues should be noted in fumigation disinfection of chicken coops:

1. Before fumigation of the chicken coop, thoroughly clean the chicken coop, spray the facilities and floor with quicklime slurry, and then let it dry.

2. During operation, never add potassium permanganate to formalin, so as to avoid injuring the operator with splashed formalin.

3. The container holding the chemicals should be as large as possible, so as to avoid overflowing from the container during boiling.

4. The container should be high-temperature resistant and corrosion-resistant. Flammable plastic containers must not be used, so as to avoid causing fire.

5. After fumigation disinfection, the chicken coop should be kept sealed for more than 24 hours to ensure the disinfection effect.

6. After disinfection is completed, open the doors and windows of the chicken coop and ventilate for more than 2 days so that the formaldehyde gas inside volatilizes completely.
