2016 Taiwan's Top 20 International Brands Revealed: ASUS Takes the Crown for the 4th Consecutive Year
Organized by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, executed by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, and undertaken by Interbrand, the globally authoritative brand value research institution, the "2016 Taiwan International Brand Value Survey" was announced on November 29. ASUS won the championship for the 4th consecutive year, while Trend Micro and Want Want Holdings once again held steady at 2nd and 3rd place. CTBC Financial Holding entered the ranking for the first time and immediately achieved an outstanding result, capturing 4th place in one stroke.
This Taiwan International Brand Value Survey adopted the same brand valuation system as Interbrand's "Best Global Brands" ranking. This year, ASUS Computer continued to expand its business territory through outstanding innovation capability, taking the top spot once again with a brand value of 1.748 billion USD. CTBC Financial Holding, entering the ranking for the first time, broke through the internationalization threshold of the financial industry and, through its efforts to transform into a comprehensive solutions platform and create digital experiences, forcefully seized the 4th place position.
According to this year's overall brand value survey, the industrial landscape of Taiwan's Top 20 International Brands has become more diverse and broad, including: the consumer electronics industry (such as ASUS, HTC and Acer), the sports and health industry (such as Giant, Merida and Johnson), the technology industry (such as Advantech, Delta Electronics and MediaTek), the financial services industry (CTBC and Chailease Holding), the food and beverage industry (such as Want Want, Gourmet Master and Uni-President) and the beauty industry (Chlitina), among others. Among them, as many as 5 Taiwanese international brand companies showed strong double-digit growth in brand value, a particularly eye-catching performance.
Interbrand, which was responsible for the valuation, stated that Taiwanese companies' brand awareness continues to strengthen, with greater emphasis on and investment in brand building and operation. Even in the face of a dramatically changing market environment, they remain actively positioning themselves for the "Big, Smart, Mobile, Cloud, IoT" trends (big data, smart cities, mobile internet, cloud technology and the Internet of Things), which will lay a solid foundation for future development.
