Can Bordeaux mixture be mixed with insecticides and fungicides?

Bordeaux mixture is an inorganic copper fungicide that has been used in China's pesticide application for many years, and there are many misconceptions about its use. Some farmers believe that Bordeaux mixture is an alkaline pesticide and cannot be mixed with imidacloprid, acetamiprid, phosethyl-Al and other agents.

First of all, Bordeaux mixture is a weakly alkaline agent made by mixing copper sulfate and quicklime; it will not immediately react strongly with acidic agents, let alone immediately neutralize all the efficacy of insecticides and fungicides. For insecticides, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam, beta-cypermethrin-malathion, emamectin benzoate-beta-cypermethrin and others can be added; for red spider mite control, abamectin-etoxazole, emamectin benzoate-fenpropathrin and others can be added; for foliar fertilizer, Ootianjia and others can be added; to prevent pre-harvest fruit drop, naphthaleneacetic acid can be added.

It must be solemnly noted that the amount of insecticide and fungicide added should be increased by about 30% (for example, if it is normally 1000 times, use 700 times when added to Bordeaux mixture), and it must be mixed and used immediately; never leave it standing for too long.

?In addition, adding the following agents to Bordeaux mixture has remarkable effects:

1. Ammonium bicarbonate

Combining Bordeaux mixture with 330 times ammonium bicarbonate can both serve as a foliar fertilizer and effectively kill apple cotton aphids and red spider mites; after many years of use on apples, pears and grapes, the effect is very unique.

2. Carbendazim

Bordeaux mixture is a protective fungicide; adding carbendazim (a systemic fungicide) provides both protective and therapeutic effects against various apple diseases such as phytophthora rot, brown spot, anthracnose leaf blight, alternaria leaf spot and various fruit rot diseases.

3. Thiram

The combination of these two has a very good therapeutic effect on grape white rot.

4. Phosethyl-Al

The combination of these two has a very unique therapeutic and protective effect on grape downy mildew.

5. Anthracnose thiram

The combination of these two is very good for both protection and treatment of grape anthracnose and apple anthracnose.

6. Urea

The combination of these two has a very good effect on strengthening weak trees.

7. Washing powder

The combination of these two has strong resistance to rain washing, helps improve pesticide efficacy, and can also control aphids.

8. White sugar

These two together can effectively prevent sedimentation and also have strong spreading properties.
