Major transmission control systems manufacturer moves into Dapumei Park in Chiayi

Renowned domestic transmission control systems manufacturer HIWIN Technologies has moved into the Dapumei Precision Machinery Park in Dalin Township, Chiayi County, and held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant on the 13th; Chiayi County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan, Legislator Chen Mingwen, HIWIN Technologies Chairman Zhuo Yongcai and board members performed the foundation-laying and groundbreaking. Magistrate Zhang Huaguan stressed that, in order to serve manufacturers in the park, the county government team's service center has dedicated staff to assist with plant setup and proactively offer consultation, providing all-round, diversified assistance for manufacturers applying for construction licenses, use licenses, factory operation registration and operational needs.

Magistrate Zhang Huaguan pointed out that, to help manufacturers cultivate talent, the county government joined with the Taichung Precision Machinery Research and Development Center, the Ministry of Labor and the Chiayi County Social Affairs Bureau to survey and grasp manufacturers' talent needs, combine online recruitment information, hold recruitment events to help match manpower, and at the same time open basic CNC operation classes to train precision machinery plant personnel. This series of efforts also won recognition this year as 2nd place in the non-six-municipality group of the Ministry of Economic Affairs' investment promotion evaluation, as well as recognition as an outstanding performer in single-service-window and investment-obstacle-removal effectiveness among local governments, and furthermore cooperated with the Industrial Technology Research Institute and National Chung Cheng University to establish the "Jiajiren Cross-Disciplinary Technology Innovation Center", integrating industry, government, academia and research experts to conduct research and development in 5 major fields including smart machinery and electric vehicle operation, which will enhance Chiayi's industrial competitiveness in the future.

Zhuo Yongcai said that this time 14.7 hectares of production business land was purchased in Dapumei to build the new plant area, planned with the concept of smart manufacturing, and that robot manufacturing and important front-end processes for linear guideways will all be placed in the Dapumei plant area, making Dapumei the company's most important base for future development; the first phase will build a total floor area of 16,500 ping, expected to be completed by the end of 2017, providing more job opportunities in Chiayi.
