150 Lantern Festival Gifts Unveiled: The 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, China Has Things to See and Things to Take Home

To make the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, China even more spectacular, the Yunlin County Government launched a call for festival gift selections and held a press conference on the 20th for the results of the "2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, China Souvenirs/Cultural and Creative Products/Souvenir Gifts" selection. The 150 selected products were unveiled together and will be promoted jointly with the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, China and sold at a market in the Huwei main lantern area. County Magistrate Li Chin-yung, Huwei Township Mayor Lin Wen-pin, Gukeng Township Mayor Huang Yi-ling, Citong Township Mayor Liao Chiu-jung, Erlun Township Mayor Chung Fu-chu, Dounan Township Mayor Chang Sheng-hsiung, and numerous business representatives warmly invited people from across the country to visit the lantern festival and buy great gifts.

County Magistrate Li Chin-yung said that Yunlin's hosting of the "2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, China Souvenirs/Cultural and Creative Products/Souvenir Gifts Selection" drew great attention from businesses across the country, and registration was very enthusiastic. From 538 products, the county government, through the first-stage expert preliminary selection and the second-stage online popularity vote, ultimately selected 150 high-quality products, so that visitors from home and abroad coming to the lantern festival would have "things to see, things to eat, and things to take home."

County Magistrate Li Chin-yung further said that there are two things about this lantern festival gift selection that moved everyone deeply. First, the selected products demonstrated Taiwanese businesses' dedication to their own products and their love for Taiwan's local characteristics. Second, manufacturers that were not selected also showed compassion by donating their non-selected products to the Yunlin Family Assistance Center, passing this love on to children in need of help.

The Yunlin County Construction Department said that in addition to the 150 selected exclusive products, a special exhibition called "Yunchuang Dianjing" was also planned, as well as exciting market events including Yunlin Coffee Day, Haikou Fresh Seafood Day, and Yunlin Good Products Day, using various promotional methods to satisfy visitors' visual and taste-bud enjoyment.
