Rainbow Bridge flower sea in full bloom: Taipei City's riverside transforms into the most romantic scenic spot
As the year draws to a close, it is the most beautiful season for winter herbaceous flowers. According to the Hydraulic Engineering Office of the Taipei City Public Works Department, colorful landscape patterns have been planted on both banks of the Rainbow Bridge at the Chengmei left and right bank riverside parks along the Keelung River. The theme this time is presented with a playful ocean imagery, with various colored herbaceous flowers combined to form sailboats, seagulls and dotted waves. The surrounding area also uses vivid color blocks to surround the love locks within the flower sea, creating the most romantic scenic spot for winter lovers' outings. The Hydraulic Engineering Office said that this batch of flower buds has been blooming one after another, and now is the perfect time to enjoy the flowers. The flowering period is expected to last until late January, so the public is urged to seize the opportunity and not miss it.
The Taipei City Hydraulic Engineering Office said that the Xikou Wharf and Rainbow Bridge, located beside Raohe Street, have always been one of the public's favorite riverside scenic spots. This wave of flower sea uses purple angelonia and red and pink begonias arranged in combination, echoing the vividly colored Rainbow Bridge. On the Neihu side, there are seagulls outlined with white angelonia, yellow marguerite daisy waves, and sailboats sailing among them presented with herbaceous flowers of various color schemes, making the colors more lively, as if sailboats are breaking through the waves toward the rainbow.
The Taipei City Hydraulic Engineering Office suggests that the public can enter through Alley 221 of Raohe Street Night Market to reach Ji No. 4 Evacuation Gate (Raohe Evacuation Gate), where the flower sea landscape can be seen. In addition, cyclists on weekdays can rent bicycles at the Dajia or Meiti rental stations and ride toward Songhe Street (upstream of the Keelung River) for about 10~15 minutes to arrive. On holidays, bicycles can also be rented at the Rainbow rental station, and it takes about 5 minutes by bike toward the upstream of the Keelung River to arrive.
